Pristinailurus
[edit]Why does the well-known fossil ailurid Pristinailurus redirect here when it had (rightfully) its own page in the past? These taxa differ at a generic level; redirecting Pristinailurus to Ailurus makes as much sense as redirecting Pan to Homo. The fossil genus is known from fairly complete remains and differs significantly in terms of size, dentition, and geographic origin. It is at least as distinct and notable an organism as any of thousands of fossil genera that Wikipedia has granted their own page.70.122.86.238 (talk) 20:17, 8 December 2017 (UTC)
Seconded. Likewise, would you want Canis to redirect to Coyote (or vice versa)? Because the justification behind this redirect is less valid than that would be.Sumanuil (talk) 03:35, 14 December 2017 (UTC)
Working on it...Sumanuil (talk) 01:41, 27 February 2018 (UTC)
