[edit]Premier Exhibitions, Inc. (OTCQB: PRXI), is a provider of museum exhibitions throughout the world and recognized in developing and displaying unique exhibitions for education and entertainment. In early 2012, the Company acquired Arts and Exhibitions International bringing opportunities to further develop the exhibition and entertainment experiences. Premier’s mission is to captivate, educate, and inspire large audiences around the globe through stories that utilize authentic objects and artifacts, in diverse and unique environments. The Company is dedicated to preserving the legacy of the R.M.S. Titanic, the wreck site and all her passengers and crew through educational, historical, scientific and conservation based programs and Exhibitions. [1]
Timeline 1987 Titanic Ventures LP recovers 1800 artifacts from Titanic wreck site. 1993 On May 4, 1993, RMS Titanic, Inc. acquired all the assets and assumed all the liabilities of TVLP. In June 1993, the company successfully completes their second expedition to the Titanic wreck site, during which they recovered approximately 800 artifacts. 1994 RMS Titanic, Inc. named Salvor-in-Possession of Titanic wreck site. The first Titanic exhibition opens in London at the prominent-Greenwich National Maritime Museum. [5] 1996 RMS Titanic, Inc. in cooperation with Wonders-Memphis International Cultural Series opened the first U.S. exhibition “Titanic - The Exhibition”, Memphis, Tennessee. [6] 2004 RMS Titanic, Inc. became a subsidiary of Premier Exhibitions, Inc. (the holding company) and continued to conduct exhibitions of the RMS Titanic artifacts. Premier expanded its exhibitions beyond Titanic-related displays into human anatomy exhibitions, which explore the marvels of the human body. Premier currently operates a “Bodies Revealed” exhibition and two “BODIES. . . . THE EXHIBITION” exhibition. “Bodies Revealed” debuted in August 2004 in Blackpool, England, and was the first non-Titanic related exhibition that Premier produced. The first “BODIES. . . . THE EXHIBITION” in the U.S. opened in August 2005 and the second exhibition opened in New York City in November 2005. [4] 2008 Premier continued to expand exhibition portfolio – adding “Dialog in the Dark” and “Star Trek the Exhibition”. 2010 Premier opened on the NASDAQ board - (PRXI). [7] 2011 The U.S. District Court granted Premier in-specie award granting Premier ownership of all the recovered artifacts from the Titanic. Premier splits into two operating entities (exhibition management and content) to facilitate strategic opportunities. 2012 Premier announced its intent to acquire assets of Arts and Exhibitions International and the rights to “Tutankhamun: The Golden King”, “Cleopatra”, “Real Pirates”, and “America I Am” exhibitions. 2013 The “One Day in Pompeii “exhibition opened at the Franklin Museum in Philadelphia, PA. 2014 The “Extreme Dinosaurs” opened in Atlanta, GA. “Discovery of King Tut” debuts in Union Station, Kansas City. 2015 Premier merged with Dinoking Tech, Inc., a leading traveling exhibitions company, with a range of exhibition products designed and developed for education and entertainment. [8] 2016 On June 14, 2016, Premier and each of its wholly-owned United States subsidiaries filed voluntary petitions for reorganization relief under Chapter 11 of the United States Bankruptcy Code in the United States Bankruptcy Court for the Middle District of Florida.
