[1] 3:16-3:32 "I just make the music that I like. And I don't even classify myself to be a rapper, I classify myself to be more of a artist. I'm not just rapping, on the new album I play guitar, I do rock stuff, it's just different."

[2] 0:42-0:50 "I'm not a rapper. I'm a artist. I don't make rap music. I might rap, but I don't make rap music. I just make whatever I like."

I think it's best to call him a "bad ass motherfucker" and then classify his music into the appropriate genre. Rainbow unicorn (talk) 00:32, 17 November 2015 (UTC)

Despite his efforts to distance from hip hop, it does not change his classification. He is know for his songs where he raps, and by many media outlets and streaming platforms he is referred to as a rapper. TomasTomasTomas (talk) 16:30, 2 January 2018 (UTC)

Not done for now: Can you specifically link the podcast and time stamp where this is mentioned? — IVORK Discuss 04:36, 24 May 2017 (UTC) Post Malone was an amazing drawer at a young age. He liked blondes and only dated brunets. He was also a jerk in high school but is now a grown independent young boy. his parents do not support his drugs but they support his hair. He has been thinking about becoming a pirate at little girl's birthday parties. He isn't the best artist but he is really good at drawing. He has a dog. He loves his dog. He wishes he could talk more about his dog but no one will ever listen to him. NO HOMO!

Where we lived in New York

He resided in the villages of Baldwinsville, NY and Phoenix, NY until he moved to Texas. (This as been confirmed by his father and photographic proof.) Ellastacy (talk) 15:05, 30 June 2017 (UTC)

The article states "he stated that neither Trump nor Hillary Clinton were not fit for President of the United States" However, this should read "he stated that neither Trump nor Hillary Clinton were fit for President of the United States" (REMOVED "not", as this is a double negative)

This article also should go more in depth into both his personal life. And the musical style section is very surface level, and I feel there is a lot more to discuss about his music and what makes it unique, including his vocal training as a kid and his guitar lessons. You could also include how he incorporated guitar into his first album, Stoney, in many tracks because he felt that was his style better. You can also discuss how even with major backlash from critics his album did very well, with many tracks reaching platinum.

I think it is also important to note that Rockstar broke the iTunes streaming record for most streams in one day and debuted at #1 on the Billboard. You could also talk about the controversy this led to, as people accused his label of abusing the YouTube system to skyrocket its ranking on Billboard.

I'd love to write for this page, but I'm unable to. Georgariou (talk) 02:12, 10 November 2017 (UTC)

Partly done: I've made the grammatical change. The other changes will need more specific details, and probably also discussion to build consensus. These proposed changes will need to be based on reliable sources (this isn't optional). Thanks. Grayfell (talk) 02:39, 10 November 2017 (UTC)

Near the end of Early life and career beginnings, change professional game streamer to professional YouTube gamer. Source on this change comes from Post stating this in an interview (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=w-34Bnpbzkg&feature=youtu.be&t=6m21s). A video on Stokes's main YouTube channel featuring Post from the Minecraft era (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QonI6QCWlio&feature=youtu.be&t=10s) and another from a different YouTube channel from a close friend also features Post (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=c6z4XxtHRbQ&feature=youtu.be&t=43s) support this. A complex article that is already used on the Wikipedia page (http://www.complex.com/music/2016/05/post-malone-white-iverson-profile) also alludes to Stokes as "a Minecraft genius".

A request is also for the addition of background information as to why Post and Stokes moved to Los Angeles together. This comes from the video (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=x1cOpMeBWIM&feature=youtu.be&t=1m57s) where Stokes reveals he was in this group called "Team Crafted", a Minecraft gaming oriented group. Researching more information on Team Crafted, in an introduction video, it is announced that the group would be moving in together near minute 1:03 (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WOAEQWtpj5A&feature=youtu.be&t=1m3s). Another Team crafted video shows reveals that the house is located in Los Angeles (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JUsHA2rYoR0).

@Fernadillo1: Please have a look at WP:PRIMARY. If Malone or Stokes said something, it's usually not considered in line with our policy on sourcing. If you still believe these changes should be made, please restate your request so that we're not running into these issues. CityOfSilver 16:55, 21 November 2017 (UTC)

Media appearances

Latter Post's appearance in IDubbbz' Content Deputy against AJP (Asian Jake Paul, aka Ricegum) should be added to the 'Media appearances' section. You can see Post Malone here, where he plays the role of a Police Officer. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 81.39.211.220 (talk) 16:37, 10 December 2017 (UTC)

I have seen it. Is it really notable, though? Idubbbz doesn't have a WP entry yet. We can't mention every YouTube video he appears in, especially when it is a cameo. Cheers, --SVTCobra (talk) 05:06, 22 December 2017 (UTC)

Media Appearances

It is stated under the "Media Appearances" section that Malone was in an h3h3 Productions video in 2013. However, Post Malone did not appear on the h3h3?Productions channel until Jan. 29, 2017, in a video titled "Making Music with Post Malone". LeperMessiah84 (talk) 19:49, 21 December 2017 (UTC)

Yes, it appears to be a clear error on IMDB. I guess that's why IMDB is not considered a WP:Reliable source. --SVTCobra (talk) 07:29, 22 December 2017 (UTC)
Done However, I could not find secondary sources outside of the video itself. I hope somebody else can. But the error on IMDB was so egregious it had to be corrected with something more plausible, even if its not 100% verifiable yet. Cheers and thanks. --SVTCobra (talk) 07:42, 22 December 2017 (UTC)

From this article a few months back: https://www.theverge.com/2017/9/25/16358026/post-malone-rockstar-apple-music-single-week-streaming-record I think it is significant to mention that his single "Rockstar" broke Apple Music's single week streaming record in the section under "Career" that discusses the single. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Georgariou (talkcontribs) 19:54, 3 February 2018 (UTC)

Beerbongs and Bentleys information section needs updating - the album broke first day streaming records on Spotify (https://twitter.com/Spotify/status/990297520529080322). Also relevant to mention that it has been one of the fastest albums to go platinum - it only took 4 days (https://www.forbes.com/sites/hughmcintyre/2018/04/30/post-malones-new-album-has-been-certified-platinum-just-4-days-after-being-released/) — Preceding unsigned comment added by JDM245 (talkcontribs) 16:43, 2 May 2018 (UTC)

"...the single "Rockstar", with 21 Savage. The song would debut at number one on the Billboard Hot 100, and marked Malone's first number one as a solo artist." This is false. Change this to "...the single "Rockstar", with 21 Savage. The song would debut at number two on the Billboard Hot 100, and would rise to number one on its fourth week, marking Malone's first number one as a solo artist."

  •  Done. Since this is the lead section of Malone's biography, and not the article about the song "Rockstar", I kept the detail to a minimum. I chenged the text to say that the song "rose to number 1" which is the important point. No need for the detail of what level its debut appearance, how many weeks, etc. Binksternet (talk) 14:50, 9 May 2018 (UTC)
