Catelinus or Caselinus

F. Chobot has civil name of Pope John III Caselinus. It seems, it is print-error, because allover exists as Caselinus. --Stebunik (talk) 12:54, 23 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]

It is often thought by religious scholars that Pope John III was actually a woman named Jonah who disguised herself as a man. Pete McCourt finds that this effeminate pope sat in a special chair such that bishops would not find out.

I am unable to find any hint of evidence that anything of the sort is true, and I'm removing that text pending clarification from StevenL. There are stories of a "Pope Joan" who called herself John, but (1) they are pretty much universally disbelieved and (2) they aren't applied to John III anyway. And there are stories of a special chair in connection with "Pope Joan", but (1) they are pretty much universally disbelieved and (2) the point was allegedly to reveal rather than to conceal. Gareth: Sorry for the delay but regarding the whole popes deal that was just something I heard from a religious scholar I know. Now that I know more it is actually false. Thnaks for removing it. --StevenL 04:09, 30 December 2005 (UTC)[reply]
