Pontsticill railway station → Pontsticill Junction railway station – Per all the sourcing. The content here is written throughout as the standard gauge station (when it was "Pontsticill Junction") as being the canonical name. Andy Dingley (talk) 00:23, 10 February 2020 (UTC)
- Rename as proposed since according to Butt (1995), the word "Junction" was always part of its name, and WP:NCUKSTATIONS. --Redrose64 🌹 (talk) 15:05, 10 February 2020 (UTC)

Article naming
[edit]The above discussion (from 2020) notwithstanding, the article should be reverted to its original name, in accordance with standing Wikipedia naming conventions. The requirements of WP:UKSTATION are clear that "Stations (re)opened by heritage railways should use the current name, even if different from the official name at closure." (my stress added). This applies clearly and unambiguously in the case of Pontsticill. The argument (in 2020) that the article was more detailed in historical content was indeed correct, but the solution would have been to recast the article in current-day terms (which has now been done). Pontsticill Junction railway station → Pontsticill railway station – This page was incorrectly moved last year, and should be moved back. Policy (see WP:UKSTATION) is clear that "Stations (re)opened by heritage railways should use the current name, even if different from the official name at closure." This applies clearly and unambiguously in the case of Pontsticill railway station. The word "Junction" applied historically, but is not part of the current name.
