"Trump first floated the idea of running for president in 1987"
Lucky for you, this article has escaped the eyes of Admins who register Discretionary Sanctions. I've given a good reason for my removal of the source you added, and regardless of the lack of page restrictions there, it's no less bad form for you to jump revert to your preference without addressing the issue. Your reputation on WP is a valuable thing. It's a shame to see you squandering it on personal attacks, revert wars, and involved closes. You can do better. Once folks size you up as an aggressive uncollaborative editor, things go downhill fast. Friendly advice. Slow down. SPECIFICO talk 20:44, 29 August 2021 (UTC)
- @SPECIFICO: I would hardly call one revert a "revert war" and the involved close was an honest mistake that I took responsibility for, no need to bring it up a month later. I appreciate the friendly advice though, I hope you didn't see any of my comments as a personal attack. If you want to revert my edit again and/or bring it up on the talk page, that is fine by me. ––FormalDude talk 20:51, 29 August 2021 (UTC)
- Denial and failing to take account of the feedback offered by others here is the problem. And it's just as much a problem here as on an article talk page. You can do better. No, I'm not going to waste any more effort on it. My reasoning is clear and you've yet to address it in any way that garners support from other editors. Don't take silence for approval on WP. That can really backfire on you when you least expect it. I won't be commenting further. SPECIFICO talk 21:11, 29 August 2021 (UTC)
- I promise I took your feedback into account. Others will too, and if there is a problem with my edit, I'm sure it will be addressed. I always value your input and feedback, @SPECIFICO, whether you believe so or not. If you have a larger problem with my article talk page behavior in general, I would like to hear what you think I can do to be better. But I understand and respect your decision to not comment further as well. ––FormalDude talk 21:22, 29 August 2021 (UTC)

Remove "oldest president to take office"
Biden has beaten Trump's record as oldest president to take office. It should be removed or changed to second — Preceding unsigned comment added by TheeFactChecker (talk • contribs) 23:38, 19 November 2021 (UTC)
- Instead of removing it, I changed it to say that he was the oldest president to take office at the time he was inaugurated, until Joe Biden became president.--NapoliRoma (talk) 06:07, 3 December 2021 (UTC)
placement of rating, historians
putting his contemporaneous rating by noted presidential historians in the lede seems a bit on the nose.
might be better towards the end of the body, given. just a thought, Saintstephen000 (talk) 07:48, 1 March 2023 (UTC)
- Yes someone please remove that sentence from the first paragraph of the article. It is not super relevant to his political career, as it is still a very contentious statement that might not hold the same regard into the future. 2600:1702:4E76:A400:B79B:44B5:6FA1:D98D (talk) 01:01, 10 May 2023 (UTC)
- Agreed. Mary Loucks (talk) 19:43, 13 May 2023 (UTC)
- Disagreed. This is literally the topic of the article. The only reason one comes here is to learn facts such as this (ie the historical standing of Trump’s presidency.) The above takes are very cold. This is an encyclopedia. It’s supposed to be “on the nose.” 67.85.103.120 (talk) 06:03, 24 May 2023 (UTC)
Remove infobox
Why is there an infobox in this article? No other politician includes it in their respective "Political career of" articles (see Political career of Arnold Schwarzenegger and Political career of Vladimir Putin for examples), and if someone wants general information on Trump provided in his infobox, they should visit his main article. It should be removed. -- Politicsfan4 (talk) 21:30, 25 December 2020 (UTC)
- Your Wiki asks us to be kind; and yet you stated that Trump was considered the 'worst president in history' of the United States? Where did you get THAT information? Trump was brilliant from the beginning to the end; and he is STILL running in 2024; despite all of the SLURS and LIES thrown at him ALL of these years; not to mention these criminals who destroyed much of the wall that was being built!
- You appear to have been one of those who hated President Trump; but he was an outstanding President! Something corrupt and evil as Hell is going on in our country, and it is NOT normal. Trump wants to run again to SAVE America, and dispose of these evil combination's! You have no idea what is going on in our United States! If you did, you would be grateful that God raised up this imperfect, yet BRILLIANT man to SAVE OUR COUNTRY! Please take off your glasses and rethink your perspective's!!! Mary Loucks (talk) 19:42, 13 May 2023 (UTC)
- The two links sources list Trump at the bottom, not the top. Seriously, Trump better than Lincoln, Washington, Jefferson, Roosevelt (either one), Truman? Not to mention 30 or so others? Truthfully, that statement should be there whether best or worse. CoyoteRed (talk) 13:44, 14 June 2023 (UTC)
"Support from the far-right" section
Under said section, a claim is made "Trump was later reported to have praised Adolf Hitler to his chief of staff John Kelly, opining that "Hitler did a lot of good things," and also reportedly kept a volume of Hitler's speeches on his bedside cabinet when he was younger, and was often compared to Hitler in the media during his 2016 campaign".
The only source for this is from one book that came out making these claims with zero evidence to substantiate them. The claims are about as credible as the claims from Larry Sinclair that he smoked crack and had sex with Barack Obama, which is nowhere to be found on Obama's Wikipedia page. The claim should be removed from the article as it is intentionally and clearly included for biased reasons. Including conspiracy theories in the article diminishes the integrity of it, people are capable of drawing their own conclusions of Trump's political career with purely factual information. 2603:301B:A07:BD00:451B:849B:A62B:5FD6 (talk) 21:30, 8 September 2023 (UTC)
citation needed on "cia involvement in January resurrection"
Claims official testimonies and seemingly claims CIA collusion in the Jan 6th Insurrection. No sources cited.
Furthermore, how is that relevant to an article specifically on the political career of Donald J. Trump? Any such discussion or original research on the alleged involvement of the CIA (and/or Donald J. Trump) would be better served to be on the page for the insurrection itself. And that's only if an appropriate or applicable source could/would be cited.
Otherwise, it is original research and aught to be published somewhere else. Perhaps in a political studies journal. 99Disconnected (talk) 22:15, 3 October 2023 (UTC)

Change 'A House Oversight Committee report by the democrats exposed the details of numerous gifts received by the Trump family.' to 'A House Oversight Committee report by the Democrats revealed the details of numerous gifts received by the Trump family.' as Democrats should be properly capitalised.
