What does it have to do with Soviet Union?
[edit]The article is about Polish arms sales to Republican Spain, right? So why is it ended with comparison with Soviet Union? What does it have to do with how much more arms USSR supplied to Republicans? Or how much money they made or prices they charged? Wiki supposed to supply information. Thank you for it. I did not know Poland sold weapons before WW2 to anybody at all. But why add political color to information? To show how evil Soviet Union was because they overcharged republicans? Was USSR along in the world doing it? Or when "free democratic world" doing something like this it's fine but when commies start to follow free market rules it's not? Unbies information articles please! 2603:3005:254D:2000:75F6:F975:705F:AB3B (talk) 01:11, 28 October 2022 (UTC)
- Hello, dear anonymous user.
- First, please excuse me in case I did not understand your comments properly. I am afraid your English is a bit distant from perfect and I am not sure what you indeed intended to say.
- Second, I think there is no reason to charge me with political bias. I have not included any phrases about “free democratic world”, “commies”, “evil Soviet Union” etc.
- Third, to your key point. My intention was to give a reader a sense of scale. Polish arms supplies might be at times mentioned in literature, but very often in confusing context, e.g. when suggesting that Polish supplies were comparable to Czechoslovak or Estonian ones. A table which compares Polish and Soviet supplies provides good insight into magnitude of Polish supplies. This was my intention. Yes, as you rightly point out the article is on Polish sales. And how a reader with no background or expertise can tell whether these sales were small or big? The best way is to provide a reference point, and I think the Soviet supplies are an excellent reference point.
