Plant memory and taste

[edit]

I have recently heard that according to the evidence Pitcher Plants have a 'appetite' for a particular protein source without any clear metabolic advantage to account for their 'taste'.

Thought the details of how the plants manage to lure the 'prey' into their pitchers is yet to be found the evidence inform numerous hitherto contentious research observations that plants are intelligent, communicate, and exhibit responses that are comparable with emotional expressions like fear, gratitude harmony and alarm to overt threat and ambient sensory awareness.
