PWA
[edit]PWA was not founded by Orion or Bar Manager, I believe that was Fairlight. I should know, I coined the name PWA. It was obviously a play on the seminal gangsta rap group NWA of which I was a huge fan. -VenoM
- This response brought to you from RaD Man on IRC:
Interview with Orion / PWA Prez (after anouncing retirement) ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ This is a short interview with Orion, more known as 'ThePrez' of PWA. This interview was conducted by Mondain on November the 5th 1995. M: Orion, on behalf of the Naked Truth Magazine, I would like to ask you a few questions. O: By all means, fire away M: First, I'd like to ask you about PWA's founding, in late 1992 I believe. What backround can you give us on that? O: Actually PWA was founded in Feb of 92. We started PWA when alot of us old pirates got tired of the blood thirsty competition of the warez scene.. NTA was ruling the Utils scene so we decided to throw our gauntlets into that ring and see what happens... Seems we did well...

- Oh and he also says to tell you to "CALL RAD MAN if he has any further questions, since he has my home #."
- ALKIVAR™ out...
Ok - I guess my memory is shot but reading the text Rad Man quotes further confirms my membership in the initial cast. I still maintain I came up with the name and slogan "The Group That Gives Slightly Less Than a Fuck".
M: Who was in the original cast? O: Hmmm sure make me think... grin.. Lets see Bar Manager and myself ran the group, from there we had Dumper, Satman, TMOD, Rambone, Dorian Hawkmoon, Hannibal Lecktor, Venom, and honestly can't think of everyone... Give me a few and I can get a nfo from then....heheh
Im gonna email RM this week, dont think I still have his phone #. Need to touch base.
so anyway
[edit]What were the various sentences meted out? In particular, the averge plea bargain vs. average conviction.

Microsoft employees in pwa?
[edit]I remember reading on a warez scene page circa 1998 to 2000 that members of pirates with attitude worked at Microsoft, and that a specific official beta release of Windows 98 even displayed a PWA logo on startup. It stated that the employees were dismissed. The article went on to explain that this was the reason why so many beta releases of Windows 98 were first released by pwa. Does anyone have a reference to this? I have searched and I cannot find it anywhere. It may have been on a News group. Family Guy Guy (talk) 20:45, 30 October 2023 (UTC)
