Please can the name of the page be changed to Pink Ribbon SWSA (Snooker) A new tournament with the same name has started and we don’t want any confusion between the two having the same name as they are different events Also, is it possible to lock a page from being edited? This event has now ended so no more information will need to be added or updated.

Question: Is the new tournament part of a series that contains this tournament? If so, the page names could be modified to include each tournament's date. Besides that, locking the page would be preemptive because further notable information could come out about it, like news about its influence, or such. The new tournament is not related to this one. It just has the same name. If we could have this page name changed to Pink Ribbon SWSA (snooker) we think that would be sufficient to distinguish each tournament in its own right. I understand why you would not wish to lock it. SWSA147 (talk) 03:39, 14 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Alternatively you could change the page name to the dates as you suggested so Pink Ribbon 2010-2019 (snooker) Whichever you deem most appropriate. Many thanks SWSA147 (talk) 03:41, 14 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]
All the sources I can find seem to connect the SWSA Pink Ribbon and the 2024 one held by Landywood), e.g. here. My current sense is that it's best to leave both under this name for now and make the different hosts and any other differences clear. Independent editors with more context should feel free to move if they think it's appropriate. Rusalkii (talk) 20:20, 25 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Hello! Thank you for your response. As the organiser of the original Pink Ribbon which ran between 2010 and 2019 I can assure you the events are not linked. The poster for the new event even states on it new venue and new tournament. This can be found on the Landywood Snooker Facebook page. If we could please distinguish somehow between the two on separate pages I’d be very grateful. Many thanks in advance for your help SWSA147 (talk) 01:29, 16 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Could you link those sources, please? Rusalkii (talk) 05:09, 19 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Hello! Thank you for your reply. Please find attached the link to that poster for the new event.

Ignoring the question of whether that is a good enough source, this doesn't actually make it clear to me that this new tournament isn't connected to the old one. "New venue, new tournament, new era" just sounds like marketing copy about how this new! and exciting! especially in the context of the entire left side of the poster discussing the connection to the old tournament. If there is a better source we can clarify in the article the relationship between the two. I believe that they are not linked, but we need a better standard to add it to the article than someone telling it to us on the talk page and linking an ambiguous facebook poster. Thank you for your reply. I’m not sure I’ll be able to provide anything that could be linked to. Is there another way around this? My family and I founded the original event in memory of a relative and we are keen to preserve our event history from 2010 to 2019 for her children and grandchildren to read about. We are not involved in the new event of the same name and they are not linked. Any suggestion you may have would be very much appreciated :) SWSA147 (talk) 08:40, 23 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]
If it is stated clearly on their website or somewhere else by the organization (e.g. "we are not affiliated with the old tournament of the same name" or something similar) I think this would merit adding to the article, though not necessarily to changing the name and creating a new article. Newspaper articles and other reliable published sources stating the same could also work, depending. Likewise the old tournament publishing something equally unambiguous, if they still have some communication channels available. Rusalkii (talk) 05:23, 26 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]
