February 2021
[edit]Please stop your disruptive editing. If you continue to vandalize Wikipedia, you may be blocked from editing. Stop adding {{See also}} to pages of suicides. Wikipedia is an encyclopaedia, not dedicated to suicide prevention Dat GuyTalkContribs 08:20, 17 February 2021 (UTC)
- @DatGuy:: Hi, my apologies for my edits! I was trying to be helpful, definitely didn't think that what I was doing was vandalism! I was going off of a discussion in the talk page for the Wikipedia article on Suicide, where someone suggested adding these see also tags. I agreed and when no one else wrote anything after that, took that as a sign that it would be okay! I would still argue for the necessity of adding these entries to Wikipedia, but will defer to your judgement. Likeanechointheforest (talk) 06:20, 18 February 2021 (UTC)

Managing a conflict of interest
[edit]Hello, Likeanechointheforest. We welcome your contributions, but if you have an external relationship with the people, places or things you have written about on the page Will Powers (doctor), you may have a conflict of interest (COI). Editors with a conflict of interest may be unduly influenced by their connection to the topic. See the conflict of interest guideline and FAQ for organizations for more information. We ask that you:
- avoid editing or creating articles about yourself, your family, friends, colleagues, company, organization or competitors;
- propose changes on the talk pages of affected articles (you can use the {{request edit}} template);
- disclose your conflict of interest when discussing affected articles (see Wikipedia:Conflict of interest#How to disclose a COI);
- avoid linking to your organization's website in other articles (see Wikipedia:Spam);
- do your best to comply with Wikipedia's content policies.
In addition, you are required by the Wikimedia Foundation's terms of use to disclose your employer, client, and affiliation with respect to any contribution which forms all or part of work for which you receive, or expect to receive, compensation. See Wikipedia:Paid-contribution disclosure.
Also, editing for the purpose of advertising, publicising, or promoting anyone or anything is not permitted. Thank you. Spicy (talk) 17:44, 14 August 2021 (UTC)
Possible areas for editing
[edit]Hi Likeanechointheforest,
I just commented on the AFD about the article you created, and I thought I would leave a note here; while I don't believe that the individual that article covers is notable, your stated goals for creating it are commendable. To help you meet them, could I suggest that you take a look at this WikiProject, WP:LGBT? You'll find a community of editors there dedicated to improving the coverage of LGBT topics, as well as hints on where you can contribute edits.
In particular, I would recommend looking at "Editing" tab, and then the start class articles. I can't guarantee that they all meet wikipedia's standards of notability, but they are likely to, and they are all in need of further development.
If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to ask me!

edit to Disclosure:_Trans_Lives_on_Screen
[edit]Hello! I reverted your edit to Disclosure:_Trans_Lives_on_Screen. You added a red link to the See Also section. You should create an article for Monsters in the Closet first. Also, be sure to use edit summaries with every edit: they are very helpful. Cheers! Doctormatt (talk) 23:57, 26 August 2021 (UTC)

[edit]Edit summary
[edit]Hello. Thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia.
When editing Wikipedia, there is a field labeled "Edit summary" below the main edit box. It looks like this:
Edit summary (Briefly describe your changes)
You can use the edit summary field to explain your reasoning for an edit, or provide a description of what the edit changes. Summaries save time for other editors and reduce the chances your edit will be misunderstood. For some edits a summary may be quite brief.
Please provide an edit summary for every edit you make. With a Wikipedia account you can give yourself a reminder to add an edit summary by setting Preferences → Editing → Prompt me when entering a blank edit summary.
Thanks! Fettlemap (talk) 20:34, 3 January 2022 (UTC)
- Okay! Yeah, I never know what to say and saw a lot of people leaving them blank, but thanks for that reference guide. I'll try to come up with stuff now. Likeanechointheforest (talk) 20:29, 4 January 2022 (UTC)

Uber Eats
[edit]I reverted your edit to Uber Eats because you did not cite it (WP:CITE, WP:RS). I have little doubt that you are correct, but it does need a citation I'm afraid. --Yamla (talk) 20:19, 1 June 2022 (UTC)
- Got it, thanks! I thought it was in the body of the page itself but I'll be more diligent Likeanechointheforest (talk) 18:30, 2 June 2022 (UTC)

Introduction to contentious topics
[edit]You have recently edited a page related to the Arab–Israeli conflict, a topic designated as contentious. This is a brief introduction to contentious topics and does not imply that there are any issues with your editing.
A special set of rules applies to certain topic areas, which are referred to as contentious topics. These are specially designated topics that tend to attract more persistent disruptive editing than the rest of the project and have been designated as contentious topics by the Arbitration Committee. When editing a contentious topic, Wikipedia’s norms and policies are more strictly enforced, and Wikipedia administrators have special powers in order to reduce disruption to the project.
Within contentious topics, editors should edit carefully and constructively, refrain from disrupting the encyclopedia, and:
- adhere to the purposes of Wikipedia;
- comply with all applicable policies and guidelines;
- follow editorial and behavioural best practice;
- comply with any page restrictions in force within the area of conflict; and
- refrain from gaming the system.
Additionally, you must be logged-in, have 500 edits and an account age of 30 days, and are not allowed to make more than 1 revert within 24 hours on a page within this topic.
Editors are advised to err on the side of caution if unsure whether making a particular edit is consistent with these expectations. If you have any questions about contentious topics procedures you may ask them at the arbitration clerks' noticeboard or you may learn more about this contentious topic here. You may also choose to note which contentious topics you know about by using the {{Ctopics/aware}} template.

Notability is only of concern when deciding if something warrants an article. An incident does not need to be notable itself to warrant inclusion in an article. A fatal bus crash on a school outing is certainly worth mentioning, Meters (talk) 01:10, 17 June 2024 (UTC)
- I always thought notability meant there had to be both sources for the thing itself and sources that explained why it was important to the article. I also thought that single incidents were typically not notable enough for inclusion on pages. Would you happen to have links to essays/policies on these topics that reflect where I'm wrong? Genuinely, I would appreciate knowing. Likeanechointheforest (talk) 23:05, 17 June 2024 (UTC)
- Read WP:N ("notability is a test used by editors to decide whether a given topic warrants its own article.") and particularly WP:NNC {"The notability guideline does not apply to the contents of articles."). Content does have to be verifiable, but that is not the same as being notable. Meters (talk) 00:15, 18 June 2024 (UTC)

Dowa Holdings
[edit]Hi Likeanechointheforest, thanks again for your work on Dowa Holdings. I have recently posted additional suggestions for the article and seemed to have inadvertently misspelled your username in the ping so you likely didn't see it. I would appreciate if you could review and assist with the requests. Thanks so much, Yamadori1 (talk) 11:30, 24 September 2024 (UTC)

My COI Request for Cohen Milstein
