Overview
[edit]- No disambiguation and dead links. Good. Jivesh1205 (Talk) 12:35, 9 January 2012 (UTC)
- The sample sample should be only 18 seconds long. Read WP:Music Samples. Jivesh1205 (Talk) 12:35, 9 January 2012 (UTC)
Infobox
[edit]- I see August 30, 2005 and Digital download. So was it released? At least to radio? Or a digital outlet?
- I can't find any actual reference (at the usual sources, such as FMBQ or Mediabase) that says that the song was ever officially released to radio, so I presume that the airplay was unsolicited: I can also find no reference to a CD single, so I have listed digital download as it is the only format in which the song can be purchased separately (the date is thus the release date of the album "Pimpin'" appears on). See "Migrate (song)" for a similar example. I Am Rufus • Conversation is a beautiful thing. 22:31, 9 January 2012 (UTC)
Lead
[edit]- Link rapper to Rapping
- who also helped to write the song with Yayo ---> who also helped in the writing process with Yayo
- Musically, "Pimpin'" is a rap song expressing Yayo's desire to be able to legally pimp women, and is backed by an upbeat, "bouncy" production containing elements of digital guitar. ---> Break the sentence into two shorter ones.
- others felt the song out of character ---> ???
- Not peaking but charting. According to the sentence, peaking does not make sense.
- Read WP:NUMBERS
- Avoid overuse of the word song
Background and composition
[edit]- Link chorus and verse to where appropriate. Ask for help if you do not know the correct links.
- to many of the other songs ---> to many other songs
- I love the job here.
Critical reception
[edit]- but criticized the song's concept ---> its
- criticized the song's tempo ---> the tempo of "Pimpin'"
- the song's music video was the only thing making the song ---> it
- more positively of the song ---> "Pimpin'"
- despite noting that "Yayo's old mix-tape career gets cannibalized" for the song, he felt that "simplicity kind of works for Tony", although he also wrote that "it's not the real G-Unit manifest destiny" ---> Re-write
- Try to avoid overuse of the word song
Chart performance
[edit]- Read WP:NUMBERS and apply it.
- debuted on the US Billboard Bubbling Under R&B/Hip-Hop Singles chart at number eleven for the chart week dated August 6, 2005 ---> debuted at number 11 on the US Billboard Bubbling Under R&B/Hip-Hop Singles chart issue dated August 6, 2005
- Apply the format above in the lines that follow
Music video
[edit]- Link music video
- No mention of video in the lead?
- The music video for "Pimpin'" was released as a double-music video along with the video for the single "Curious", which is also present on Thoughts of a Predicate Felon: although the section containing the footage for "Curious" appears first on the video, it is positioned immediately after "Pimpin'" on the album's tracklisting, appearing at number ten ---> A pain to read this and to understand it.
