Notability
[edit]I saw this was nominated when looking at the Good Article Nominations. I believe it is not notable under WP:NSONGS and tagged it as such.
- Ref 2 for BreatheHeavy and Ref 4 for Direct Lyrics do not look reliable to me. It can't be verified if the people writing the content are qualified to do so, or if they are just contributors with no experience.
- Ref 7 is classified would be classified as being self-published.
- Ref 8 for YourTango is debatable as well.
- Ref 9 for PerezHilton.com is definitely not reliable as it is self-published content.
- Only two PopCruch sources, one Billboard and one Idolator are definitely reliable, which makes four sources.
- The main focus here is the subject of rape and its relevance to the song, but it is not expansive in its coverage.
- It hasn't charted.
- It hasn't been nominated for or won any awards
- It hasn't been extensively covered or re-recorded.
I would say this was not notable under WP:SONGS and would suggest redirecting. I would like to see what others say. — Calvin999 19:47, 25 January 2018 (UTC)
- I have to agree with Calvin999 on this matter. I am a little surprised that this song has not received more coverage, as I had considered Martinez to be a somewhat significant artist and the story behind it is rather timely given the current social climate. However, upon doing a Google search, I could not find anything more substantial. Most of the coverage that I found focused more on the rape accusations, and did not mention the song (or were published prior to the song's release). This article could be re-created in the future if it acquires more coverage (it was only released a little over a month ago so it is possible), but I would actually suggest doing a selective merge into the main artist's page along with redirecting. Notability is a tricky subject, and I am still pretty terrible at it, so I hope that I do not sound too negative with this suggestion. Aoba47 (talk) 19:55, 25 January 2018 (UTC)
- @Cartoon network freak: I would suggest removing this from GAN until this issue is resolved. Maybe opening something like an AfD would be appropriate, but I am not sure how to best approach this sort of discussion or situation. Aoba47 (talk) 05:13, 27 January 2018 (UTC)
Contradicting statements
[edit]The first two sentences in the article directly contradict each other. How is it both an "unreleased song", yet was "independently released as a single for streaming"? Which is it? Redandsymmetry (talk) 03:41, 25 March 2021 (UTC)
