Moso Name

Yes, but I don't have a citable source at hand:
"Moso" is the Japanese form of 孟宗 (Meng Zong), protagonist of "He Cried and the Bamboo Sprouted" and one of The Twenty-four Filial Exemplars.
If someone can find a source, this should certainly be in the article, because a) it means that the name was probably established in or before the Three Kingdoms and b) that P. edulis was traditionally identified as Meng Zong's bamboo means the species was considered primarily a medical ingredient rather than a food.
