Regardless of whether its added to the article, Maybe somebody can explain to me the sub warfare portrayed. At one point, the Captain orders some torpedos fired, but he says they will damage but not sink the other Sub. First: Why would one Russian sub engage the other russian sub in combat. Second: If I understand the movie correctly, was he sacrificing his own submarine as part of his plan to sabotage the plans of the KGB agents on board, whom were trying to start a war? Theres more points to clarify, but this will at least start the discussion, and help me understand what is portrayed in the movie. The objective here is not to bring anybodys own research into the topic; The objective is to bring point-of-fact items into the discussion, which explain the events of the movie.
