Position in Vietnamese independence movements
[edit]Phan Thanh Giản was a patriot but he was somewhere between Revolutionaries and Collaborators group.[1]
Sir Phan was not a real Revolutionary like Nguyễn Tri Phương or Phan Đình Phùng because he did not intend to fight against the French. He want to maintain his Emperor by policy and economic improvement instead.
Sir Phan was not a real Collaborator like Hoàng Cao Khải or Nguyễn Thân because he was not helping the French authorities to hunt down other Revolutionaries.
Royalist is more suitable for Phan Thanh Giản. Maybe for General Tôn Thất Thuyết too. Leemyongpak (talk) 01:17, 11 January 2022 (UTC)
