Proposed merge

Hello to all! I am proposing a merge from the following articles into this article:

This is for the following reasons:

These three articles are small and there is significant crossover of information (see eg [Distal phalanges]])
The main article and the content in general would benefit significantly from having all this information in one place. This would allow an article to reflect on the nature of these in context, rather than in isolation.
This topic shouldn't be obscured by virtue of being on six separate pages (this page, the three I have proposed, and Phalanges of the hand and Phalanges of the foot)
These topics may receive more attention by being mentioned in the main article, which will hopefully improve the content and article's overall quality.
The articles, if needs be, could be re-expanded at a later date.

Proposed merge with Phalanges of the foot

Unnecessary and fragmented to have separate articles, could easily be presented on the main phalanx article. Fragmentation reduces quality and leads to needless duplication of content. LT910001 (talk) 02:38, 28 December 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Phalanx bone → Phalanges – TA Latin synonym and English equivalent. More often referred to even in merged pages. Google hits show 470K for phalanx and 660K for phalanges. Even Wiki entry comes up as phalanges. Iztwoz (talk) 19:32, 21 October 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Oppose. "Phalanges" is merely the plural of "Phalanx". And the primary topic for Phalanx is a military formation, not a bone. The term "bone" is in the title here acting as a disambiguator. It needs to remain in the title. 07:03, 22 October 2015 (UTC)

Suggesting article for separation of foot phalanges

I suggest we separate the article for phalanges of the foot, you do not merge metacarpals with metatarsals, you are not supposed to merge scalp hair with pubic hair, so I would propose we make a separate article for phalanges of foot and the hand.
