Musa / Banana

[edit]

I read on Musa_(genus) that “some reaching up to 9 m (30 ft) in height or 18 m (59 ft) in the case of Musa ingens. The large herb is composed of a modified underground stem (rhizome), a false trunk of tightly rolled petioles” - would this not make the petioles of a musa ingens the longest there are? 20040302 (talk) 09:39, 13 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Pronunciation

[edit]

On the Wikipedia page it claims that the pronunciation is /ˈpiːti.oʊl/, which is "petey-ole", but all of the online pronunciation guides I could find say "pet-ee-ole", /ˈpe.ti.oʊl/. I have no idea which one is correct, but I thought I would point it out. Mains Olsen (talk) 05:27, 14 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]
