[edit]I just saw that show about Roman engineering on the History Channel, and I was thinking, "Is that who I think it is" when I saw Peter Weller commentating on the show. I was surprised to see him doing that - until now I didn't know about this facet of him.

I have removed the comment "This is due partly to the unimaginative approaches of the directors involved, and Weller's lack of animation in these roles." as it is somewhat insulting. It should certainly be sourced (as per Biography of Living Persons) if it is to return. If a critic or some other notable source made such criticism, it needs to be sourced. Original research and opinion have no place. Theredcomet2000 06:02, 19 December 2006 (UTC)

correct the link
[edit]The link at the end of this text points to the wrong "The New Age"
Weller was also in The New Age (film), an art film directed by Michael Tolkin. The New Age (1994)
Since there is not a link to the proper article, since it does not exist, I suppose it should point to the the disambiguation page.

Greatest ?
[edit]Is Peter the most underated ( & greatest ) American actor? SameDayService 00:26, 1 December 2007 (UTC)
- Either way, it's opinion, and has no place in an encyclopedia. That discussion belongs on the IMDb message boards. PacificBoy 07:36, 16 January 2008 (UTC)

[edit]Did a little cleanup work on the "Career" section. PacificBoy 07:57, 16 January 2008 (UTC)
- The question is, can we make a career of it? – AndyFielding (talk) 13:38, 28 October 2022 (UTC)
Professor & Historian
[edit]The article is full of references to his acting career. Apparently his career as an historian is also significant. He is a sometime lecturer in that field at Syracuse University. We need more documentation on this. 76.172.11.202 (talk) 20:32, 14 February 2009 (UTC)
You need to mention his PhD and the hard work that goes into earning it. I'd think it matters more than any acting credit he ever received. That's just my opinon but a PhD is hardcore! — Preceding unsigned comment added by 70.181.226.88 (talk) 01:26, 5 April 2012 (UTC)
- Earning a PhD is hardcore; but, everyone and his brother nowadays has a PhD. The only reason that Weller's PhD is noteworthy is because he's famous for his career as an actor. So, his acting must come first. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 24.145.220.11 (talk) 02:44, 5 December 2020 (UTC)
Sad to see no mention of his degrees and teaching positions. Apparently, from what I've been able to dig up, he's a popular professor at Syracuse University. Mari Adkins 20:34, 21 December 2016 (UTC) — Preceding unsigned comment added by MariAdkins (talk • contribs)
Repeated vandalism
[edit]The edits by 71.134.155.74 have been reverted twice. This person continues to edit the article to say that Weller died Saturday. NO NEWS SOURCE (I have personally checked the print and online versions of CNN, Fox News, The Washington Post, The New York Times, The Hollywood Reporter, Variety, Entertainment Weekly, TV Guide) is reporting him deceased, and the edits by 71.134.155.74 are unreferenced. As far as I'm concerned, that's vandalism. I've checked this person's edit history, and the rest appear to be legitimate and helpful, but unless this person can produce a source for the claim that Weller is deceased, these changes will still be regarded as vandalism. 71.200.138.188 (talk) 13:03, 13 July 2009 (UTC)
Personal life ?
[edit]That long quote about a film director doesn't seem to really belong there. Do we need that anyway ? If we do it can either go into the main section, or perhaps a sub-section of that ? -- Beardo (talk) 09:18, 29 October 2010 (UTC)
Nationality

- I researched it, found numerous references, and an convinced enough to add it. Question is, why did it take over two years if Dr. Weller himself may very well have requested it here? – AndyFielding (talk) 13:43, 28 October 2022 (UTC)
- Could you add the source at the same time as the name, please? It can take all the time in the world, simply because an anonymous IP editor is not a reliable source for anything. It was probably Weller himself, but it may not have been. Wikipedia requires a reliable source. --Escape Orbit (Talk) 13:51, 28 October 2022 (UTC)

Peter Weller voicing Yin
[edit]Hey I chatted with Peter Weller recently and he said he was the one who provided the deep phone voice for Yin in the episode "Mr. Yin Presents", so we should put that where it says he played Yin. Maxkelley1052003 (talk) 16:15, 11 October 2023 (UTC)
