St Michael's church, Bolton
[edit]The only St Michael's I can find in Bolton is the parish church of St Michael (with St Bartholomew) in Great Lever: [1], which seems to have an organ by Harrison & Harrison: [2] (date unknown). Presumably Skellern played this one? Martinevans123 (talk) 11:40, 11 June 2017 (UTC)
- I have found an archive for the dead link reference. Unfortunately it doesn't support that he played the organ in Bolton. I wonder where the information originally came from? Poltair (talk) 15:43, 11 June 2017 (UTC)
- I see it was added in 2009 by an IP [3] - no source providedPoltair (talk) 15:48, 11 June 2017 (UTC)
- Many thanks for checking. It seems a bit odd that he was born in Bury and attended Derby High School, Bury but travelled about 7 miles to play an organ in Great Lever? But the only St Michael's in Bury is the RC church. It looks a bit suspect without any kind of source. Martinevans123 (talk) 15:52, 11 June 2017 (UTC)
- I agree it is a bit odd. Without a source it is probably best removed. Your efforts on the article are much appreciated. He certainly deserved better than what was there at his death. Best wishes. Poltair (talk) 15:59, 11 June 2017 (UTC)
- I've commented out that claim, pending some kind of source. Many thanks. Martinevans123 (talk) 16:29, 11 June 2017 (UTC)
