External links modified
[edit]Hello fellow Wikipedians,
I have just added archive links to one external link on Peter Jeffrey. Please take a moment to review my edit. If necessary, add {{cbignore}}
after the link to keep me from modifying it. Alternatively, you can add {{nobots|deny=InternetArchiveBot}}
to keep me off the page altogether. I made the following changes:
- Added archive https://web.archive.org/20101128074939/http://www.independent.co.uk:80/arts-entertainment/obituary-peter-jeffrey-1134955.html to http://www.independent.co.uk/arts-entertainment/obituary-peter-jeffrey-1134955.html
When you have finished reviewing my changes, please set the checked parameter below to true to let others know.

Doctor Who
[edit]Is there a source for the claim made in this article that Peter Jeffery "is reputed he had been offered the role of the lead character in the show by Innes Lloyd in 1966, but turned it down; Patrick Troughton was cast instead."? It is not mentioned in the relevant article it links to - List of actors considered for the part of the Doctor - and it does not seem to be mentioned in any of the sources that this article links to. - Thanks for catching this Dunarc. While I have a vague memory that he is mentioned at a "list of actors we are considering" level in one of my many books about the making of the show in my library I don't think it ever got to a "lets offer him the role" situation. I've removed the item but, of course, if any WP:RS info turns up we can add it back and put it in the other article as well. MarnetteD|Talk 17:37, 30 December 2019 (UTC)
- Thanks MarnetteD - this sounds like the best course. I had a quick look in a couple of books, but did not turn anything up, although so much material uncovering new information on 1960s Doctor Who has come out in the last couple of decades there could well be a reference somewhere.
