Lack of indigenous knowledge in this article

All information in this article is from European botanists, however the plant is a native to Australia therefore there must be some indigenous knowledge about the plant and how it was used prior to colonisation? (the only mention of indigeneous knowledge is to mention the name of the plant in the local language, and that is buried quite far down the article). This seems to be a very narrow, singular perspective and I'm surprised the article could be rated at such a high quality level when it omits indigeneous knowledge completely like this.
