I reverted to the old version of the 2nd paragraph. The new version was opinion and rather over-wrought. Dgabbard (talk) 17:34, 18 August 2009 (UTC)
Recent efforts by Gov. Jerry Brown (2012) to divert water
[edit]This article should include discussion of Gov. Brown's recent advocacy for water diversion sufficient to place it in context of the history of the peripheral canal issue. I was refering to the article to do just that, and found it wanting. I don't feel knowledgeable enough to do it myself as yet. -SM 22:24, 25 August 2012 (UTC)
References moved to talk page to preserve until secondary sources can be added
[edit]I am moving at least one reference here to keep until we can source the claim of this reports cost statement.

Bay Delta Conservation Plan
[edit]Should this article be renamed, or should a new article be created? The current proposal for two tunnels seems to carry the BDCP name, Peripheral Tunnel the 1982 measure and earlier proposals. For now I've added some info about BDCP. Mike Linksvayer (talk) 01:31, 11 July 2014 (UTC)
- I don't think. The idea of hydraulically bypassing the Delta is not new; the Peripheral Canal has been proposed many times in different forms over the years and the BDCP is the latest iteration. Whether the water flows through an open canal or buried pipeline is merely a technical difference. I'd guess it merits a subsection but not an entire separate article. Hope that helps. - Thanks it does help. I rearranged slightly in preparation for adding a new section. Mike Linksvayer (talk) 20:13, 11 July 2014 (UTC)
