[edit]Reverted deletion of trivia section, but I'm not sure that the fortunecity link isn't linkspam.Mikereichold 12:29, 19 February 2006 (UTC)
"Fictional Hero"??
[edit]An unregistered user has been continually adding the Category:Fictional heroes to the bottom of this article.
You could hardly call Percy a "hero" at all, no more than you could call Gordon a "hero". A protagonist, possibly, still not quite appropriate but more accurate.
This category has been removed, and will continue to be removed if added incessantly. Gonzerelli 02:00, 14 November 2006 (UTC)
Percy is a bit of a pervert, Why hasn't this been mentioned in the article? I think it is important for this to be noted. Cheers Barry Scott. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2.217.79.2 (talk) 20:35, 21 January 2012 (UTC)
Origin of Percy
[edit]I think Percy looks like an American saddle-tank in which the tank completely encircles the boiler. Biscuittin (talk) 20:32, 23 September 2008 (UTC)
- The TV Series model may look like that, but in the original books he had a distinctly 'oval' boiler cross-section. Otherwise I wouldn't have said there was a single American-looking component on him. However, Percy is easily the most unrealistic of all the engines -- what shape was his boiler and firebox? -- and yet he still somehow looks 'right'.
- The article does attempt to describe his origins. Unfortunately, the original 'concise' text has been hijacked by a later contributor. Fixing this is on my 'todo' list, but a long way down it...
Duplication of File:Thomas and Friends Percy.jpg
[edit]I would consider the image to be more appropriate for the infobox rather than the latter section. But I strongly disagree that it needs to be repeated in both the infobox and the body. CassiantoTalk 22:45, 12 October 2017 (UTC)
- Agreed. I mistakenly reverted this earlier (re-adding it to the infobox) because I scrolled quickly and thought the green blob further down was just the Llangollen image. I would claim that 1. this ought to be in the masthead / infobox position, and 2. that "article is about the *book* character" is just untrue: this is about "Percy" in all series, books, films, TV. I've no objection to using an original book sourced image rather than TV, and would prefer that as canon. Andy Dingley (talk) 23:08, 12 October 2017 (UTC)
Honestly, is there no end to the fancruft?
[edit]Out of all the engines, Percy holds the unwanted record of having the most accidents in a season of Thomas and Friends.
– Really? Really?? Really??? The most accidents in a season? Wait – who has the most accidents overall? Who has the most accidents involving collision with inanimate objects? EEng 22:57, 12 October 2017 (UTC)
