Since when did the Secretary become an independent politician?
[edit]Several IP addresses (175.141.223.135, 115.134.20.162, 103.101.244.252 and 1.32.67.99) made similar edits in the infobox recently, alleging that the Secretary, Mohd Farulizam Che Meh, is an independent politician and that only 37 out of 40 State Assemblymen form the Penang state government.
- Can those anonymous editors please come up with a valid reference (as per WP:VERIFY) that Mohd Farulizam Che Meh is indeed an independent politician? If there is no proof at all, why make that claim in the first place?
- The Penang State Legislative Assembly is the legislative arm of the Penang state government, similar in function to other legislatures of sub-national entities such as the Scottish Parliament and the Northern Ireland Assembly. Did those two articles list the majority party as the Scottish Government or the Government of Northern Ireland respectively? This is because those who were elected as members of the legislatures, irrespective of political affiliations, become part of the governments by default. In short, all 40 members of the Penang State Legislative Assembly (not just the 37 from the majority coalition) serve de facto as part of the Penang state government, as the legislature is part of the state government. The edits by these editors seem to ignore the fact that the Penang State Legislative Assembly is part of the Penang state government, not the other way round.
On another note, it's also fishy that the editors seem to switch between several IP addresses to press their claim. Vnonymous (talk) 10:41, 26 June 2018 (UTC)
