Tagging

[edit]

I have tagged a couple of sections that need citing. I intend coming back later and finding the cites needed. And also expanding the lead a bit to meet requirements of WP:Lead. SilkTork *YES! 20:10, 22 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Tone

[edit]

On my suggestion that the article has issues with inappropriate tone: At present, the article reads like it was plagiarized verbatim from a tourist-oriented pulp paperback or a local newspaper retrospective. The cheesy subheading titles are particularly glaring, but the problem is prevalent throughout. --199.44.86.111 (talk) 12:08, 30 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]

The article wasn't copied at all. In fact this article has actually been copied by countless websites since its creation. I wrote this article from scratch and is 99.99999% all my work. If you're not a fan of the tone, then perhaps you should get to editing. --Brownings (talk) 04:03, 4 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]
I like this article. I find it very informative, and the writing is readable and attractive. I do however understand some of the IP's concerns. I do intend to one day sit down and have a good go at finding sources for this article so it can become a Good Article. In the meantime I have made some adjustments to section headings. I'll take another look at the language later and see if the tag can be rremoved. SilkTork *YES! 09:22, 4 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]
The info presented here is not objective and many sources are bad/outdated. For instance the "2000" section is horribly written, with dead link source. Statements like "Pabst made the only business decision they possibly could and shut the brewery doors" are simply not factual. It was perhaps the "easiest" decision, but it certainly was not their "only" option.... "Consumers had moved on, following the media and promotional blitz of Anheuser-Busch and Miller. A domino effect had occurred that most just couldn't see that had forced Pabst to make the decisions they did." This bizarre, non-sourced, statement is poorly written with a ridiculous premise. Over the last 10-15 years, large corporate brewers have seen little/stagnant growth. Steady growth in craft/import segments are more likely to blame as consumer tastes continue to shift. Many brewers (smaller than Pearl) have seen accelerated growth during this period, despite AB and Miller marketing efforts.
I see a lot of talking on your part and not a whole heck of a lot of editing. If you can make it better Shakespeare then feel free, otherwise get back to monitoring the Fallout Boy page. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 208.79.15.130 (talk) 11:52, 4 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Availability of Pearl Beer

[edit]

I personally doubt, that Pearl Beer, brewed wherever, is actually still available. However, this is better better examined by konnoissers of American "beer". Cheers, Oalexander (talk) 08:03, 10 July 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Oalexander, if you're still interested, Pearl brands are owned by the Pabst Brewing Company, who no longer own a brewery, but who own the licences of several old American brands, such as Pearl. All brands owned by Pabst, including Pearl, are currently brewed by MillerCoors. But in 2021 they will be brewed by City Brewing Company for 20 years. After that, I don't know where (if anywhere) they will be brewed. SilkTork (talk) 18:24, 12 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you SilkTork, your reply is much appreciated. Thank you! Oalexander (talk) 02:34, 13 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Why doesn't this article offer more information about Otto Koehler? Is it because of the scandal surrounding his death? Jruizalvarez (talk) 19:40, 17 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]
