Jan. '07 Policy Changes/Arrests

I've started to add some information about the items appearing in the news today but only the articles I can cite directly from the internet. As a former employee of Neteller, I live in the very city where the North American branch of the company operates (and from which its founders hail); therefore, the news is rather glorified and explained in greater detail in local papers. Ok I'm not quite sure what the user at IP address 129.173.96.54 is trying to do - it looks like he/she wants to add some information about the company's technology processes, but the article is starting to sound like an ad.

recent updates

We are students trying to complete a class assignment to update Wikipedia. If you could please leave the work up there to allow our prof to grade our work that would be greatly appreciated. Then if you still feel that our work is still looking like and add then you can delete it if you see fit.

Thank you for your feedback, but however our information was correct information and should not be deleted. It was all legit from information we got from their website and put it into our own words. What was wrong with what we had???? It looked professional with great quality of information.

"over the past years have proven to be one of the best in the field" is a point of view and inappropriate for any article. See Wikipedia:Neutral_point_of_view. Formatting is a mess, including the all caps affectation. "you" and "your" is a second person term that shouldn't be used. Again, there is a sandbox, and you even have a user page that you can experiment with. Please don't change this article again without consulting the various wikipedia guidelines in terms of style, structure and point of view. 2005 02:42, 27 June 2006 (UTC)

If you are students working on a class project, then I suggest that you complete the entire assignment before posting it. In other words, write the entire article, submit it to your professor in a Word document, then post it here for further editing. I'm not sure that I understand how your professor expects to grade something that is posted on the Wikipedia, as the project is open to editing by anyone. SmartGuy 13:25, 27 June 2006 (UTC)

Me again - okay, I cleaned up the infobox and added it back to the article. I think these guys were really trying to add some useful info, so I started to pick through it to add back in the appropriate information. Then I got the feeling that I would just be doing someone's class assignment for them, which - ahem - I ain't gonna do. This article should be expanded though, since the infobox is now bigger than the body of the article itself, which I admit looks a bit goofy.

I think the ideas were legit, though - does anybody know how to archive old edits? Would it be appropriate to just dump the info here on the talk page so others can add it to the article as they see fit? SmartGuy 13:44, 27 June 2006 (UTC)

Hey SmartGuy, Its MBBS again. No worries on doing our project for us. We explained our sitaution to our prof she told us to pick a new article. We were new users to Wikipedia and we tried our best to program it. I have never used html or any type of programming before. However I do have information that I copied onto my computer. So if you want some info I can post it tomorrow.

If she wants her students to use a wiki to do their homework, tell her to get the IT folks at school to install a wiki of their own. I've just rv'd the edits 129.173.136.82 and you made to LAN article. I think the trick in successfully doing what you are trying is to pick an article that *needs* work (see http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Community_Portal#Todo) and that you have a really good handle on. Most geographic areas have "stubs" lists like: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Category:Nova_Scotia_geography_stubs which could be a good starting point. --Snori 18:20, 29 June 2006 (UTC)

Company origin?

Run-on-the-bank issues

The article claims neteller funds are safer than funds held in a traditional bank because neteller deposits are backed 100%. Incorrect company name

The name of the Optimal Payments company that is the subject of this article is spelled with one T, Neteller.

NetTeller is a product offered by an entirely different company, Jack Henry Associates, and this product in my opinion would merit its own article in Wikipedia or at least should be added to the Jack Henry wikipedia entry. NetTeller is a tool for banks to outsource the producton of their online banking services. Numerous banks and credit unions use NetTeller technology to provide their customers online access to their accounts, balances, transaction history. I believe they provide online bill pay service as well.

It would be helpful to have a list of banks implemented on the NetTeller platform, but that might not be feasible to provide or maintain here.

My understanding is that this Netteller is not affiliated with the Neteller that has recently been the focus of legal scrutiny and associated with the online gambling scene. Confusion in this regard could be detrimental to Jack Henry and those financial institutions that implement the NetTeller service (the bank site typically displays the NetTeller logo). Searching Wikipedia for "netteller" erroneously leads to the Neteller page.

My experience with NetTeller is that I do technical work for IGG Software, whose iBank product permits its users to retrieve their account transactions from various banks.
