I am unclear why you edited and eliminated much of the Wiki biography of me. The facts in that Wiki are true and previously reviewed. Small edits were made to reflect my change in title. PJTikalsky (talk) 23:34, 24 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Hello @PJTikalsky, and welcome to the wonderful world of trying to edit a WP-article about yourself, something Slate once described as "sisyphean". But we mean well, sort of. On why certain edits happened, most editors will leave a comment when they make them, these can be seen at Paul J. Tikalsky: Revision history, that's the "View history" link near the top of the article. In an article like this, pretty much everything you add needs a WP-style inline citation.
Trying to keep it short, while we should have an article about you per our "rule" WP:NACADEMIC, the article should not look like your CV/uni-profile or include language like "academic leader" or "considered one of the leading experts in fly ash, natural pozzolans and concrete materials" without some really good WP:RSindependent of you that says so.
The goal of any WP-bio is to try to be a summary of WP:RS about but independent of the subject. Some context:
WP:BACKWARDS is the best path forwards. We don't want to know what you have to say about yourself. We want to know what others (who are independent of you) have said about you. WP:AUTOB is another good read. You are strongly discouraged from writing about yourself. As Grabergs aptly noted, we should have an article about you. Just, let someone else write it. I'll tag the article and see if someone will find an interest to properly expand it. - UtherSRG(talk)12:12, 25 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]
That is probably the best move and seems reasonable. You have clear conflict of interest and there is not much appetite now for folk who edit their own article. Attitudes have hardened over the last few years due to various reasons. I would leave well alone and let somebody else run with it. It will happen eventually. scope_creepTalk13:36, 25 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]
