British Spelling?
[edit]Wikipedia's Rules say that British things must be used with British Spellings, Like wise American Things with American Spellings. As Patrick Campbell was British, British Spelling should be used. If anyone has any objections, please say below. J.J.Sagnella 10:41, 18 August 2006 (UTC)
- Apologies, all words in article are spelt the British way, and according to my Dictionary, both
humorist and humorous are spelt correctly and do not need an extra "u". J.J.Sagnella 10:44, 18 August 2006 (UTC)
- In any case, he was Irish, not British. --BrownHairedGirl (talk) • (contribs) 12:18, 14 March 2008 (UTC)
Patrick Campbell Place of death
[edit]According to Burke's Peerage which references his birth and death certificates and to several other sources he died of pneumonia in University College Hospital, London. 81.97.75.231 (talk) 18:18, 23 August 2024 (UTC)
- Yes, and the Dictionary of Irish Biography here says: "
In 1972 a period of illness led to the discovery that Campbell had suffered an undetected heart attack some years previously and had a permanent heart weakness. An attack of viral pneumonia in 1980 exacerbated this condition, and he died suddenly 9 November 1980 while talking to a nurse at University College Hospital, London.
" So I've corrected it, thanks. Martinevans123 (talk) 21:06, 23 August 2024 (UTC)
