Location

[edit]

I edited the text slightly to make it clear that Patchway railway station is not actually located in Patchway at all, but in nearby Little Stoke. Johnsjames (talk) 09:19, 8 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Is Patchway still considered a town and Little Stoke a village? Whatever the technicalities are I would consider these places now suburbs of Bristol. I would also think that the station's location right next to Rolls-Royce Bristol would be worth a mention. Chardn (talk) 21:56, 8 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Hi! Will review this. Sainsf <^>Feel at home 06:10, 28 March 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Well-written article. Only a few points to make: Sainsf <^>Feel at home 16:25, 28 March 2016 (UTC)[reply]

  • Description
Sorry, did not notice. Sainsf <^>Feel at home 16:50, 28 March 2016 (UTC)[reply]
As you like. Sainsf <^>Feel at home 16:50, 28 March 2016 (UTC)[reply]
  • Services
  • Great Western Railway who operate most I think "who" should be "that" and the Railway should be considered a single unit, and thus it should be said "operates".
    Sorted. -mattbuck (Talk) 17:43, 28 March 2016 (UTC)[reply]
  • Several duplicate links: London Paddington, Filton Abbey Wood, South Wales Main Line, Bristol Parkway, Pilning.
Regarding duplicate links, it's always been my opinion that there should be no duplicates within level 2 headings, but that having the same link in several sections should be ok on the grounds that people don't always read the entire article, especially when it's a long one. -mattbuck (Talk) 10:00, 29 March 2016 (UTC)[reply]
I see your point. Alright, duplinks can be kept if they are necessary. Sainsf <^>Feel at home 06:08, 1 April 2016 (UTC)[reply]
  • History
  • More duplinks: Bristol Temple Meads, River Severn, Pilning, South Wales Main Line, Henbury Loop Line, South Gloucestershire, Great Western Railway, Arriva CrossCountry, Manchester Piccadilly.
  • and few details about it survive I think "remain" would be better than "survive"
I'm not sure remain implies quite the same thing. I've reworded it to very little else is known about it. -mattbuck (Talk) 16:45, 28 March 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Fine. Sainsf <^>Feel at home 16:50, 28 March 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Perhaps link gradient? I am not familiar with this term here, so could not get it. Sainsf <^>Feel at home 16:50, 28 March 2016 (UTC)[reply]
That's done now. -mattbuck (Talk) 17:11, 28 March 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Fine. Sainsf <^>Feel at home 16:50, 28 March 2016 (UTC)[reply]
  • Future
  • Duplinks:Greater Western passenger franchise, impending upgrade to the Great Western Main Line, CrossCountry
  • Citations
OK. Sainsf <^>Feel at home 16:50, 28 March 2016 (UTC)[reply]

That should be all. These done, I would be glad to promote this. Good luck! Sainsf <^>Feel at home 16:25, 28 March 2016 (UTC)[reply]

I believe all the issues have now been addressed. This article is ready for promotion. Great job! Sainsf <^>Feel at home 06:08, 1 April 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Thankyou very much! -mattbuck (Talk) 07:34, 1 April 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Hello fellow Wikipedians,

Hintory infobox

[edit]

I had thought of changing the Historical Rail infobox to make it clearer which Pilning station each line refers to, but I need to check something. The infobox shows the Bristol and South Wales Union Line as having been used continuously from 1868 to 1948.

I haven't checked the sources used, but the Bristol and South Wales Union Railway article states that the line ceased operation in 1886, with passenger services restarting in 1922 and finishing again in 1964.

I realise that this infobox is already very long, but should it reflect this? Thanks.
