Stress and high pitch marks

[edit]

@Adjutor101: The IPA stress mark, ˈ, should go before the stressed syllable. I saw several cases where you put it after, and corrected them. I'm not sure why the table of diphthongs in dialects has stress symbols, since stress is generally a word-level or phrase-level phenomenon. What do the stress marks mean here?

The acute accent ◌́ marks high pitch. Pashto phonology § Stress uses an acute accent; this is incorrect unless Pashto has a pitch accent. I don't know whether that's true or not. If there isn't a pitch accent, the acute accent should be replaced with the stress mark. — Eru·tuon 00:37, 14 May 2017 (UTC)[reply]

@Erutuon: Thank you ! It represents stress, Pashto is not a tonal language. Adjutor101 (talk) 19:12, 7 June 2017 (UTC)[reply]
