... that until 1984 messages could be sent by pneumatic tube (pictured) in central Paris? "Le ministère des PTT prit la décision d'arrêter le service pneumatique le 30 mars 1984" which I translate to: "The PTT ministry decided to stop the pneumatic post service on March 30, 1984" from page 148 of: Poujol, Thierry (1989).
