This article is written in American English, which has its own spelling conventions (color, defense, traveled) and some terms that are used in it may be different or absent from other varieties of English. According to the relevant style guide, this should not be changed without broad consensus.
The contentious topics procedure applies to this page. This page is related to gender-related disputes or controversies or people associated with them, which has been designated as a contentious topic.
This article should adhere to the gender identity guideline because it contains material about one or more transgender people. Precedence should be given to self-designation as reported in the most up-to-date reliable sources, anywhere in article space, even when it doesn't match what's most common in reliable sources. Any person whose gender might be questioned should be referred to by the pronouns, possessive adjectives, and gendered nouns (for example "man/woman", "waiter/waitress", "chairman/chairwoman") that reflect that person's latest expressed gender self-identification. Some people go by singular they pronouns, which are acceptable for use in articles. This applies in references to any phase of that person's life, unless the subject has indicated a preference otherwise. Former, pre-transition names may only be included if the person was notable while using the name; outside of the main biographical article, such names should only appear once, in a footnote or parentheses. If material violating this guideline is repeatedly inserted, or if there are other related issues, please report the issue to the LGBTQ+ WikiProject, or, in the case of living people, to the BLP noticeboard.
This article must adhere to the biographies of living persons (BLP) policy, even if it is not a biography, because it contains material about living persons. Contentious material about living persons that is unsourced or poorly sourcedmust be removed immediately from the article and its talk page, especially if potentially libellous. If such material is repeatedly inserted, or if you have other concerns, please report the issue to this noticeboard. If you are a subject of this article, or acting on behalf of one, and you need help, please see this help page.

A fact from París Galán appeared on Wikipedia's Main Page in the Did you know column on 14 January 2023 (check views). The text of the entry was as follows:
Did you know... that París Galán, who introduced a style of drag performance in Bolivia, became the first-ever transgender individual to win elective office in the country?

GA review (see here for what the criteria are, and here for what they are not)
I try to avoid taking GANs of pages I've also reviewed at DYK, but these Bolivian politicians just do not move themselves. It's weird to say this, but they move slower than my TV stations.
The sheer volume of nomination we each submit probably factors in. We have the seventh and ninth most nominations, respectively – on topics that are (admittedly) pretty niche; ha, ha. Krisgabwoosh (talk)
Check the blog reference to see it is only being used for quotes. Also some copy changes. And since this has sat so long, give it a once-over with fresh eyes.
in La Paz "to get him away from his fag friends."MOS:LOGICAL quote for a sentence fragment. This recurs several times.
I believe this one is correct as the period is part of the original quote. I have, however, gone through and tweaked some other quotes. Krisgabwoosh (talk) 05:03, 3 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]
@Krisgabwoosh: "If the quotation is a single word or a sentence fragment, place the terminal punctuation outside the closing quotation mark. When quoting a full sentence, the end of which coincides with the end of the sentence containing it, place terminal punctuation inside the closing quotation mark." Reference [2] is a Blogspot blog. It is very heavily cited, though it is an interview with the subject. There is at least one citation of it for something that is not a quote, which I would avoid.
I grappled with this one when writing this article because I knew it would surely come up on review but it also contains some of the only personal information I could find on Parra. Blogspot blogs are common even among established print publications in Bolivia but I understand they're not ideal and come with the inherent need to affirm their reliability on Wikipedia. In this case, the exact article is cited on at least one reliable journal published by an academic source, so I elected to trust its authenticity. ... ¡Fue un éxito total!
