An announcement for a concert does not make the band active. Per WP:CRYSTAL, we should wait until the show actually happens in 2025, and then we add "2025" for the years active parameter in the infobox. HorrorLover555 (talk) 23:37, 19 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Urie recently stated that the band would reunite next year for a festival appearance. Everyone is taking this as being a one off appearance, but that has not been explicitly stated. Similarly, there has recently been instructions not to put “2024–present” in the article, but I have to push back on that for two reasons:
1) Urie announced it this year, which effectively makes the band active as of 2024. If it indeed ends up being a one-off performance, we can always put “2024-2025”. It will not be disruptive to the page.
2) There was never an agreement on the talk page that the instructions should be added. ChristianJosephAllbee (talk) 23:48, 1 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]
I disagree with having the status as "2024–present". An announcement is not the same as a band performing, as we don't know if they will cancel their performance or not. As WP:CRYSTAL states, Wikipedia is not a crystal ball, and we don't know if it is definite for sure. Regarding the status, I would wager that we just use "2025" when the performance comes around, but until then, we should leave the activity as is - though we can leave the sub-section in the History section as "2025". @K-popguardian: Regarding the member section, I agree. "Current members" in that section should be removed as well, at least until the new lineup has been confirmed.
