Pancoast and Horner's

[edit]

It seems to me this article should either be expanded substantively to discuss other aspects of Pancoast tumor besides the Horner's effects, or merged. It should perhaps also be noted that Pancoast tumor need not cause Horner's-like symptoms, though it is classically associated with them.

Probably also worth noting that the apparent enopthalmos of Horner's is not entirely due to ptosis. Reverse ptosis of the lower lid, the miosis itself resulting in the appearance of greater distance of the pupil, and change in extraocular muscle tone resulting in globe retraction also play a role.

Merge Pulmonary sulcus tumor into Pancoast tumor? Possibly move the resulting article to that page name? --Una Smith (talk) 03:15, 16 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I agree wholeheartedly. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Anon Helper (talkcontribs) 01:05, 9 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I agree to that too MaenK.A.Talk 16:57, 7 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Pulmonary sulcus tumor is synonymous with Pancoast tumor, so I agree they should be merged. I further propose a link to Archie VC's published mini-review Archie VC, Thomas CR Jr. Superior sulcus tumors: a mini-review. Oncologist. 2004;9(5):550-555. I agree with the above comment. See also http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC1387913/pdf/annsurg00494-0010.pdf --JoeSperrazza (talk) 16:11, 3 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Article merged: See old talk-page here --JoeSperrazza (talk) 16:02, 4 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]

The chest PA radiograph is consistent with a Pancoast's tumor however the slice of the CAT scan is too low and does show the tumor involving any of the structures which is necessary to cause the symptoms of a Pancoast tumor or the syndrome. doctor k (talk) 13:48, 17 August 2015 (UTC)[reply]
