The U.S. Constitution does not necessarily guarantee every citizen the right to own a gun. The second admendment states "A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed." What is often forgotten are the words "well regulated" and Militia. The Supreme even it is most conservative status of judges has upheld the restrictions of some citizens to own guns. And, while the right of the people to keep and bears is not to be infringed upon, the constitution states clearly this needs to be well regulated.
