Possible institutional child abuse

[edit]

Hi Rangasyd, you wrote a page on Pallister House in Greenwich. There is another part of its history, where it was a site for institutional sexual abuse. a crime scene, and a pending criminal trial about what happened. I'm not sure how this is meant to be added? @G3N1U5australia: Hi there. All things in Wikipedia should have citations that verify the statements made, especially in cases such as you outlined. You will see that the article is predominately focused on the building. However, there is the following sentence that could be expanded, with the appropriate citations:

In 1981 Pallister ceased to be occupied by the Department of Education Special School, thus ending its nearly 40-year period as a children's home. From 1981 the house became part of the Greenwich Hospital serving various functions: an Adolescent Counselling Service, followed by a Health Media and Education Centre in the 1980s. It continues to house offices for various departments of the Greenwich Hospital complex.

In notice here that you may have been a resident at Pallister House during the 1970s. Consequently, you may be a little too close to the subject matter to provide a neutral point of view. Certainly, it would be inappropriate for you to edit an article and use as a citation a source in which you were quoted. It is interesting that this search turned up a 'null' response. So, where to from here. Firstly, I have moved the discussion off my talk page and to the talk page relevant to the article. Secondly, please locate primary sources (you being quoted in a newspaper is not a primary source) that can provide evidence to your statements. Have a go at editing the article yourself. After you've done it, ping me a note on here and I will review it, if you want. Cheers. And I sincerely hope that you find solace in the path ahead.
