Importance
[edit]Might be hard to cite, but, the TLFi cites the Oxford Psalter as the first usage of 266 words "Psautier Oxford" site:cnrtl.fr/etymologie appears in 145 etymologies, "Psautier d'Oxford" site:cnrtl.fr/etymologie in 120 · and "ps. oxf." site:cnrtl.fr/etymologie in one. The Winchester Psalter appears in none (so they think the Oxford one is older). It would be second (as far as I know) only to the Song of Roland, which it cites as in the etymologies of 502 words (search terms are "Roland" and "Rol" for that one).
