A bit of general cleanup and grammar improvement would see this easily up to B-class. The lead section should be expanded. That's why I'm rating it only C-class. --Peeky44 (talk) 22:51, 29 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Images

[edit]

I've added images which I think supplement the text and replaced a couple. Some of these are from an unfinished project with some of the House taken shortly after winter sun rise which adds colour and some definition. Hope these are seen as enhancements to the article. Osborne House or Royal Osborne

[edit]

I note that a recent anonymous edit has changed instances of 'Osborne House' to 'Royal Osborne'. I'm considering reverting this because although the attraction certainly has been marketed as Royal Osborne at times, English Heritage still seem to refer to it as either Osborne (for the whole attraction) or Osborne House (for the building). This article is primarily about the historic building, not the attraction. Any thoughts, objections? Naturenet | Talk 21:14, 13 June 2015 (UTC)[reply]

OK, I'm gonna revert it Naturenet | Talk 16:45, 16 June 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Suggestion: Osborne House's influence on architecture

[edit]

Hi, I would like to give a little suggestion for this article: to add a section about the huge influence Osborne House had on architecture through the British empire and beyond. Many private mansions or public buildings built in the 1850s and 1860s were directly inspired from Osborne House (if not copied). Here's some few examples: Ravenscrag, in Montreal (Canada), Victoria Mansion in Portland (US), Government House in Melbourne, Mintaro House in Monegeeta (Australia), Runcorn Town Hall, and many more!! :)Thomas1313 (talk) 20:34, 13 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]
