Evening Service linked to Evensong

[edit]

Because I quite trust Gerda Arendt on all things relating to Christian music but disagree on the delinking of Evensong for the term "Evening Service" in the lede–and because this was raised in the FAC–I figured I should start a discussion here. "Evensong" is the generalized term for a musical and liturgical evening service within Anglicanism (see [1], [2]). This is a really quite trivial thing, but I don't see anything in the sourcing that suggests that this Evening Service is anything other than a form or setting of Evensong. Obviously not worth getting worried about, though, and if everyone else doesn't think it should link to Evensong I won't put up a fight. Great article! ~ Pbritti (talk) 19:14, 10 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Did you read the FAC? (look for 30 September) - Morning service is linked to Daily Office, which includes Evening service. Perhaps the pipe could include both? --Gerda Arendt (talk) 20:08, 10 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Good solution there! ~ Pbritti (talk) 20:11, 10 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Aged 71

[edit]

The article states that Parsley “died in Norwich in 1585, aged 71”, yet an estimated birth year of 1510/1511 is not sound math. Which is wrong: his year of death or age at death? Thrakkx (talk) 21:52, 10 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]

@Thrakkx I was also curious, so I went and checked the history. Imagine my surprise when I discovered who did it - you Horsesizedduck (talk) 23:35, 10 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]
@Horsesizedduck: I nabbed it from the body and put it in the infobox before I realized that the math didn’t add up. Who put it in the body? Thrakkx (talk) 23:36, 10 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]
@Thrakkx Am still looking into that. Amused me a lot when I noticed your edit there though Horsesizedduck (talk) 23:40, 10 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Perhaps we could ask @Amitchell125, one of the great architects of this article, for help. This incongruence dates back to around here Horsesizedduck (talk) 00:00, 11 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]
