Hi Arsenikk, I'll be glad to take this review. Initial comments to follow in the next 1-3 days. Thanks in advance for your work on this one! -- Khazar2 (talk) 14:31, 4 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Initial comments

[edit]

Glad to see you're continuing your work on Svalbard topics! As before, I've made some minor copyedits as I went. Please double-check that I haven't inadvertently introduced any error, and feel free to revert anything you disagree with.

This looks strong overall, and ripe for promotion. It's well written, well sourced, and appears comprehensive, though I still need to run one or two checks to make sure no major aspects are left out.

Here are a few points I didn't immediately understand well enough to fix:

  • "The original ending was created as a compromise resulting in a closing deadline and lack of funding, yet keeping the ending open. " -- I'm not really clear what this means--the compromise resulted in a lack of funding? Why is that?
  • "which weaved the storyline better together." -- this opinion should probably be attributed in-text--is there a specific author or critic who feels this way?
  • "The complaint was plainly rejected by the " -- what does "plainly" rejected mean here (as opposed to regular "rejected")?
  • "to make a film-political decision" -- what does "a film-political decision" mean? -- Khazar2 (talk) 00:00, 6 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Closing review

[edit]

Since it's been a week without response (and the nominator doesn't seem to have been on for a couple of weeks), I'm closing the review for now; though the points above are small ones, I'm unfortunately not in a position to clear them up myself. Though I'm not listing this for now, I hope you'll renominate soon once the small above points are addressed. Thanks again for your work on this. -- Khazar2 (talk) 04:46, 13 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Location of Soviet station - Kjerulføya or Kiepertøya

[edit]

The article says that the location of the Soviet base is Kjerulføya, while on the actual movie (at least in Norwegian version) they refer to Kiepertøya, which is also more logical for the plot as they immediately after decide to sail along the coast of Barentsøya (and not Nordaustlandet) etc. I have seen the reference to the book but it does not seem convincing. Any more sources on this? Upior polnocy (talk) 02:43, 29 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]
