Energy Density

Isn't energy density calculated as energy per unit volume? (ie, W-h/L or J/L, like on the lithium ion page) Energy per unit area doesn't make a whole lot of sense to me in this context. --15.227.185.74 (talk) 17:38, 29 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Energy per unit area is a common form of measurement in battery science, where the area refers to battery's electrode. High surface area electrodes are important to achieve large capacitance. --Ala127 (talk) 16:40, 24 April 2019 (UTC)[reply]
