[edit]Following Wikipedia's policy on organizations, I'm not editing the page itself as I'm the coordinator of this project but rather raising some points here on the talk page in the hopes of bringing some things to light before the page is considered for deletion. {{Request edit}}
Currently the page is flagged as not having any secondary sources. I would refer to the following sources that have all done fact checking:
- Wagner, David (2014, February 11). Building A Digital Worm Is Harder (And More Important) Than You Might Think. KPBS.
- Sayej, Nadja (2013, December 27). Watch a Code Worm Do the Locomotion. Motherboard.
- Anthes, Gary (2013, August 13). The Worm Crawls Out - International Team Creates a Digital c. elegans. Communications of the ACM, ACM News
- Madrigal, Alexis (2013, May 17). Is This Virtual Worm the First Sign of the Singularity?. The Atlantic.
- Subbaraman, Nidhi (2013, May 3). Open-source virtual worm worms its way to life. NBCNews.com.
- Cossins, Daniel (2013, March 13). Want to program a nervous system? Start off with a nematode. Wired UK Magazine.
I would also point out a published paper that refers to OpenWorm:
- Palyanov A., Khayrulin S., Larson S.D. and Dibert A. (2012) Towards a virtual C. elegans: A framework for simulation and visualization of the neuromuscular system in a 3D physical environment. In Silico Biology 11(3): 137-147
and another that mentions it:
- Gewaltig, M.-O., & Cannon, R. (2014). Current practice in software development for computational neuroscience and how to improve it. PLoS Computational Biology, 10(1), e1003376. doi:10.1371/journal.pcbi.1003376
Please take these into account in the main page before removing it due to lack of secondary sources.
