Owo as a Local Government Area
[edit]I'm not quite following on the different geographic designations for Nigeria. As I understand it, there are 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT). Also there are 774 Local Government Areas (LGA). Working on Lagos showed me that there is both a City and a State with the same name. My question is the link on this article under LGAs for Owo goes to what I would call the City or Town. Is this the same as the LGA or is it something else? Thanks. --EarthPerson 22:27, 10 July 2007 (UTC)
- Pretty much the same. Most of the time, the LGAs are named after their headquarters, which are cities or towns, and besides these cities or towns the LGAs include the surrounding country. It is standard practice not to create articles on both the LGA and its capital, because the effort would be more or less duplicated. Picaroon (Talk) 22:43, 10 July 2007 (UTC)
- Okay. Thanks. --EarthPerson 23:15, 10 July 2007 (UTC)
mordernised?
[edit]With all due respect, I don't see that Oakinrinlola's wording is any more mordern than what it replaced. —Tamfang (talk) 02:25, 20 November 2019 (UTC)
