On call is not Zero Hours

[edit]

I think this is important to address. Working on call is not a zero hour contract. On call typically means you work your contracted hours, but you are paid to sacrifice the rest of your days in order to be available for your field. For example, I could work a 40 hour week contractually, but one week in six be on call. So, if I get a call at 3:45am on a Saturday morning, I could be expected to get dressed, and drive to work.

Zero hour contracts have their own page. They are NOT on-call shifts. Please discuss with me or I will separate the two. Sebhaque (talk) 00:54, 19 August 2017 (UTC)[reply]

– This is the primary topic for "on-call". The disambiguation should be moved to "On Call" per WP:DIFFCAPS. Therefore, these three pages should have their names shifted. ZXCVBNM (TALK) 15:02, 24 December 2019 (UTC) Relisting. Steel1943 (talk) 18:04, 6 January 2020 (UTC)[reply]
