Split or rename article.

[edit]

There is a question if there should be a split out of (or rename to) Gina Coladangelo. As well as the Matt Hancock social distancing event with there is work on Oxford University railway station.[1] and concerns raised about her appointment though due diligence and scrutiny appears to have been made. Note likely to touch this myself but asking the question.[2] — Preceding unsigned comment added by Djm-leighpark (talkcontribs) 21:49, 26 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Oppose rename as Oliver Tress is the subject of the article. Gina Coladangelo may be separately notable but you will need a lot more than an affair with a cabinet minister to prove it. Philafrenzy (talk) 22:12, 26 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]
It's possible that Coladangelo may by now have received more global press coverage than Tress. Viral videos of Tress being hugged and kissed by a Minister of State, via leaked illicit CCTV recording, harder to find, I suspect. Martinevans123 (talk) 22:30, 26 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Are either of them actually noteworthy? I'd rather suggest this article is recommended for speedy deletion than anything else. Psychomike (talk) 22:55, 26 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]
To be clear on the Speedy Deletion front I'd contest it and this statement indicates I am contesting a speedy .... and would likely DRV it if an admin deleted it from a speedy and did not sate me the action was reasonable. Djm-leighpark (talk) 23:15, 26 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Any store that calls itself Oliver's Boner, after it's owner, has got to be eminently noteworthy. Martinevans123 (talk) 23:01, 26 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]
When I started the article, it seemed clear that Oliver Tress was notable for founding a chain of 85 stores. There was enough in reliable sources before the news about his wife Gina Coladangelo broke. There is more coverage now, and the article would pass WP:AfD, so a speedy would be declined. At present, Gina Coladangelo redirects to Oliver Tress. As to whether there is enough to merit a separate article, it seems like a WP:BLP1E case at present, unless the coverage of Coladangelo widens significantly in its scope. A split has occurred BOLDly trumping this discussion. I am minded on balance this is probably preferable; especially if a Tress/Coladangelo separation is not temporary and perhaps due to WP:BLP considerations anyway. I am further minded Coladangelo appears to be a willing participant in the actions, per position should have been broadly aware of possible consequences. As well as Hancock it may Coladangelo has Social distancing questions to answer and may need to face appointment scrutiny; not to mention possible Privacy breaches against Coladangelo and security and privacy concerns on the positioning and handling of the CCTV and procedures followed.Djm-leighpark (talk) 15:32, 27 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Apologies all, as I have split information from this article without reading the talk page. I really do think that Coladangelo deserves her own article now, as she is independently notable from her (at time of writing) husband. --Bangalamania (talk) 15:25, 27 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]

'Tress rented a property in West Wittering, West Sussex, and along with Simon Hill-Norton, the co-founder of activewear brand Sweaty Betty, objected to another resident digging a 5ft tunnel under a public footpath dividing his garden, but planning permission was finally granted after an appeal.[11] Cams R T (talk) 14:48, 28 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Because that source in The Times is subscription only, in the absence of a link to an archive version, it's not possible to verify that Tress rented and not owned the property in question. Are there any other sources available? Thanks. Martinevans123 (talk) 15:02, 28 June 2021 (UTC) p.s. the way that sentence is written also suggests that Tress and Hill-Norton co-owned or co-rented the same property?[reply]
@Martinevans123: See WP:PAYWALL it is OK for sources to be behind a subscription. You can ask at WP:RX for someone to verify the source if you don't have access. RudolfRed (talk) 01:34, 1 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]
@RudolfRed:. Yes, I'm sure it is OK. I just can't see the content. I'll make a request. Thanks. Martinevans123 (talk) 07:30, 1 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Why is this in the article at all? It's completely unimportant as far as I can see. What is the encylopedic value of it? Philafrenzy (talk) 08:08, 1 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]
 Not done On second thoughts, I agree. It has the ring of "snooping over the garden fence" tittle-tattle about it. So I've removed it altogether. Martinevans123 (talk) 08:11, 1 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]
