Municipal structure?

[edit]

I have been looking into this a bit further: a few buildings in Portsoy seem to have been described as town halls over the years. There is the one on the northern side of The Square, which HES once listed as a "town hall" but subsequently changed the listing "the hall", this one in Seafield Street, which appears to be a converted chapel, and this one in Durn Road, which is a much more modern structure, to name just three. None of them are the type of imposing structure that we normally associate with town halls. I am struggling to find additional material about any of them and suspect that two or more of them are just local community halls rather municipal buildings where local authorities were based. I suggest that we remove the word "municipal" and the related category for now pending any reliable sources becoming available. Dormskirk (talk) 10:36, 3 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]
