Fair use rationale for Image:PhilLynottAlbum.jpg
[edit]Image:PhilLynottAlbum.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.
Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.
If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

Piccolo trumpet
[edit]Is it known who played the piccolo trumpet solo on the original? It’s nice that we have it for the Corrs and I wondered if the information’s available from ten? years earlier too. DBaK (talk) 07:18, 6 February 2019 (UTC)
- I searched but could not find it. I later found this: ""Anyway, the guy who played piccolo trumpet was the late John Wilbraham; he was principal trumpet player with the BBC Symphony Orchestra. John actually went through about four different trumpets before settling on the one he felt best suited the solo" at Facebook. But not a reliable source. Martinevans123 (talk) 08:50, 6 February 2019 (UTC) p.s. apparently, in the video, Lynott mimes the solo using a flugelhorn!
- Thanks very much, Martinevans123, for trying. For some reason I had not thought of John Wilbraham but he's pretty obvious now you mention it. I might ask a couple of people if they know of any documentation of this, just in case there is an RS lurking out there somewhere. Not the end of the world if we can't, of course, but nice if it's possible, especially as it is such excellent playing. As for the video ... blimey. It's a lovely video but that's a truly dreadful moment. Just aaaargh. Cheers DBaK (talk) 10:01, 8 February 2019 (UTC)
- Indeed not Phil's finest moment. But mercifully brief. Martinevans123 (talk) 10:20, 8 February 2019 (UTC)
- Yup, short is certainly good in this case. They didn't even try to get some fingerings right ... I know that proper people with a life don't mind but ... just ... gah! DBaK (talk) 11:31, 8 February 2019 (UTC)
- Update: I've ordered the Alan Byrne book in the hope that the Fiachra Trench bits he quotes on Facebook are in it. Watch this space but don't hold your breath ... Certainly the belief that it was Wilbraham seems pretty widespread so it would be lovely if we can nail it down. I like also the bit where it's claimed that Lynott actually wanted David Mason because of Penny Lane. He certainly did no worse getting Wilbraham! Cheers DBaK (talk) 11:31, 8 February 2019 (UTC)
- Look forward to that. How very dedicated of you. I suspect the budget for that video wasn't the biggest. But let's face it, Lynott would probably still look cool if he was playing the kazoo for that solo. Martinevans123 (talk) 11:45, 8 February 2019 (UTC)
