Trivia question
[edit]This sounds like an fascinating project. I can't help but wonder about one very practical thing though which, unfortunately, is not answered in the article: How on earth did they keep the mice away?
This may sound silly, but try and put out two pounds of rice for a few days on the floor somewhere, and you'll have mice in no time. Now imagine doing that with 112 tonnes of rice!
Did they have cats around? Or did they treat the rice in some way? If so, how were they able to "return it to the food chain" as the article claims? --93.212.228.146 (talk) 17:49, 16 October 2016 (UTC)
- Belated answer to at least part: the suppliers of the rice agreed to take it back after the show. They either washed the rice and added it back to their normal supply or used it for animal feed. That, at least, is the claim at the Stan's Cafe website. Don't know about the mice, but they did have to worry about water leakage in the disused factory. — jmcgnh(talk) (contribs) 22:55, 23 July 2018 (UTC)
Stale links
[edit]The Stan's Cafe links need repair and replacement. I've done one so far. Several of the other refs have also gone stale. I'll try to find archives or replacements as time permits. — jmcgnh(talk) (contribs) 22:55, 23 July 2018 (UTC)
