Construction

[edit]

"This article is actively undergoing construction as part of the schoolwatch cleanup project. You can help Wikipedia by editing it into a better school article."

is it really?

The Lanctots do not take credit for the edits to the Oakton Wiki, not even Pargo. I repeat, the Lanctots are not changing the page.

This site needs some major improvements and information, so try to get as many people as you can to help!

No it doesnt. ... Or does it?

OK, grammar needs fixing, and things need to be put in appropriate sections. I'm going to put up the cleanup box. KeepOnTruckin 00:02, 13 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Move page

[edit]

Most schools are pagenamed eg. Center High School (Virginia) or Center High School (Fairfax, Virginia). May I suggest moving Oakton High School to Oakton High School (Virginia) or Oakton High School (Vienna, Virginia) ? KeepOnTruckin 19:11, 28 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Sean Parker

[edit]

His Alumni status seems more like an urban legend. Until some kind of reference can be added I'm flagging for lack of citation. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Watchreader (talkcontribs) 05:06, 11 April 2007 (UTC).[reply]

He definitely is an alumni. The Outlook had an article on him when I went there (also when Napster was popular). Trying to find a citation. --205.128.3.174 19:27, 18 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Just added two more links to sources for his alumni-ness. (Nannykins (talk) 11:40, 20 February 2011 (UTC))[reply]

Serious edits need to be made

[edit]

First off the introduction for Oakton is pretty shoddy at best. More effort needs to be put in there instead of just reeling off a few facts about the school. Also a little housecleaning in different areas is needed. Looks a bit cluttered to be quite honest. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Redskins0756 (talkcontribs) 02:13, 25 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Dr Banbury ghost nonsense

[edit]

I removed the following from this article: "There are many myths surrounding the legacy of Dr. Banbury, the most popular theory being that he is a paranormal extraction (or "ghost"). Some say he drowned in the third floor pool and now roams the school's hallways, administering silently from behind closed doors. Students with the misfortune to have "seen" him in the halls are immediately sent to the clinic. Though he is a ghost, he is not a vengeful spectre; one could define him as having a "Casper Complex", as he is a genial spirit.

Ever since his death he has done well to keep out of the public eye. Subsequently, any Google search of his name will yield no viable results. The last confirmed sighting was on a 2010 production of "Cougar News", the student-produced, slowly declining news broadcast."

I think it should be fairly obvious why. It's original research, and it's not really relevant. Still, as it's a reasonably large bit of text, I thought I should provide an explanation for its removal. Ketsuekigata (talk) 21:49, 6 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]
